The Healing Place of New Hanover County offers overnight emergency shelter for individuals in need of a safe place to rest. Our shelter operates on a night-by-night basis and follows a structured check-in process to ensure safety, fairness, and consistency for all guests.

• Arrival: Please arrive at the picnic table on the west side of the front campus by 2:45 PM
• Check-In: Begins promptly at 3:00 PM
• Beds Available: 14 total beds (7 per dorm), first-come, first-served
• Length of Stay: Night-by-night
  • Check-in at 3:00 PM
  • Departure at 7:30 AM the following morning
• Leaving the Property: Guests who leave after check-in (except for medical emergencies) will forfeit their bed for the night
• Shelter Policy: We are a wet shelter
  • Drugs, alcohol, weapons, and prescription medications not labeled with the guest’s name are not permitted during check-in
