Carlie’s Journey
Carlie’s journey at The Healing Place began in detox more than two years ago. Early in her recovery, she faced an unimaginable loss when her father passed away. Though heartbroken, Carlie chose to remain in the program, leaning on her determination and the support of her peers. Her resilience through such a devastating moment showed not only her commitment to her sobriety, but also her growing belief that she could overcome anything without using.
This strength became a source of inspiration for the women around her and marked the beginning of Carlie’s rise as a leader within the program. She consistently held herself and others accountable, even when it was difficult, and quickly became someone women looked up to and trusted. Carlie served as a peer mentor in the women’s office, was hired on as a monitor, and is now an outstanding second-shift lead whose compassion, integrity, and steady presence ensure clients feel safe, supported, and loved every day.
We are incredibly proud of Carlie’s continues growth, including her recent registration for the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential. Her journey is a testament to the power of community, perseverance, and the profound impact one person can have on others. THPNC is lucky to have her – and our clients are better for it.
